Travel Alert: Hanging Lake Rest Area Will Be Closed on October 26th.

GARFIELD COUNTY/GLENWOOD CANYON — On Monday, Oct. 26, crews from the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and the Glenwood Canyon project contractor will be performing necessary repairs to barrier and guardrail that were damaged earlier this summer in a rock fall incident. Equipment will be staged on the Hanging Lake rest area entrance/exit ramp necessitating the closure for the day.

TRAFFIC AND RECREATIONAL IMPACTS: The rest area will be closed to vehicles, however cyclists and pedestrians will still be able to access the Hanging Lake trailhead as the bike path will remain open.
