BMMD Public Works Services

In 2009, the Battlement Mesa Metropolitan District, (BMMD), created a Public Works Department in order to provide street sweeping services on non-county maintained Battlement Mesa streets.  A grant obtained through the Colorado Department of Local Affairs enabled the district to purchase a street sweeper.

Since 2009, the Battlement Mesa Service Association, (BMSA), has contracted with the BMMD to provide street sweeping services which the BMSA provides to Battlement Mesa residents. 

In 2010, the BMMD expanded its Public Works Department activities to include repairs to BMSA owned fencing within Battlement Mesa and the repair / replacement of street signs and other maintenance related activities.

Other equipment available for use by the BMMD's Public Works Department includes a tractor-mounted backhoe and front-end loader.
